Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

Summary of Scope

The Client requires an experienced Engineer/Architect to supplement the current project team and facilitate the construction activities on the project.

Scope of Services

The position encompasses the following role, but the duties are not limited to those described and may vary depending on the Client's requirements.

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to facilitate the construction activities of the project, from initiation to closeout, ensuring adherence to the project schedule, specifications, and drawings.

Communication

  • Internal: Technical Services Team
  • External: Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers
  • Financial Accountability: Indirect impacts on expenses/budget in the amount of project cost

Main Duties

  • Assist in planning the project execution and preparing detailed look-ahead schedules based on the project schedule, in coordination with the Project team.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and Project team for the preparation and submission of method statements for various construction activities.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and Project team for the preparation and submission of work notifications for various construction activities as per the schedule requirement.
  • Conduct site surveillance and liaise with subcontractors for work progress.
  • Verify and analyze the resource adequacy/requirement for achieving the schedule.
  • Implement corrective actions for any variations from the plan and verify their effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC engineer and conduct internal material inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Provide accurate project progress status to concerned team members on a regular basis.
  • Conduct work inspections to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications and raise work inspection requests to QA/QC engineer.
  • Coordinate and liaise with subcontractors for completing the consultant's inspection comments, corrective actions for non-conformance reports (NCRs), and deficiencies recorded by the QA/QC team within the agreed time.
  • Conduct internal snagging and liaise with the subcontractor to close all identified snags.
  • Coordinate and liaise with subcontractors, Project team, and consultants for the testing and commissioning activities of the project.
  • Supervise the contractor and sub-contractor personnel to ensure the work is performed to agreed standards for safety, health, environment, and attaining high levels of HSE performance.
  • Ensure the work is carried out on time and follows the scope of work.

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and skills:

Specifications and Quality Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Construction Engineering or related technical field
  • 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Organizational skills and a methodical approach to work
  • Ability to interpret contract specifications and drawings
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to understand construction logic and sequencing of projects
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability
  • Clear communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Planning and time management skills
